Tajmahal – a historic setting.
The Tajmahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India, which was built under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaj Mahal. It's a complete mixture of Persians, Turks, Indians and Islamic architectural styles. Was cited as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world` s heritage "by the UNESCO world heritage in 1983. The ustah lahauri Ahmed is the principal designer of Taj Mahal, who completed an integrated symmetric complex struture in 1648.
When examining the exterior decoration of the Taj Mahal, is one of the best found in Mughal architecture. As you change the surface area, a pishtaq has more surface area larger than smaller and decorations are refined proportionally. The decorative elements were created by the application of paint or Stull, or by stone inlays or carvings. According to the Islamic prohibition against the use of anthropomorphic forms the embellishment can be grouped into either calligraphy, abstract shapes or floral motifs.
The handwriting is on Tajmahal are zuluz florid script, created by Persian caligrapher Amanat Khan, who signed several of the panels. When one enters the door Tajmahal, calligraphy reads, "O thou art soul at rest, return to the Lord at peace with him, and at peace with you. "Floors and walkways use contrasting tiles or blocks Tesselation patterns.
Muslim tradition forbids elaborate decoration of graves and Therefore, Mumtaj and Shah Jahan are placed relatively common in a crypt beneath the inner chamber with their faces to the right and toward Mecca. Ninety names of God are as calligraphic inscriptions on the sides of the royal tomb of Mumtaj Mahal in the crypt including "O Noble, O Magnificent, O Majestic, incomparable, O Glorious Eternal …." . The tomb of Shah Jahan bears a calligraphic inscription that reads, "He traveled from this world to the banquet hall of Eternity on the night of the twenty-sixth month of Rajab, in 1076 Hijri.
As we proceed in the garden of Tajmahal, the complex is about 300 square meters large Charbagh, a Mughal garden. The garden uses raised pathways that divide each of the four quarters of the garden into 16 sunken partererres or flower beds. An elevated water tank marble in the middle of the garden, halfway between the tomb and gateway, with a mirror of north-south water reflects the image of the Tajmahal. Elsewhere in the garden presented with avenues of trees and fountains. The elevated water tank marble called the Hawd Kawthar, in reference to the "Tank of Abundance" promised Mohammed.
The Charbagh garden, a design inspired by Persian gardens, was introduced to India by the first Mughal emperor Babar. symbolizes four flowing rivers of paradise, and reflects the gardens of paradise derives from the Persian paridaeza, ie "walled garden".
